Looking back at it, it&#8217;s been one of the best decisions I have made in my life.<br \/>\nI have no regrets. But like every human, I faced a new challenge after this big change.<\/p>\n<h2>The challenge<\/h2>\n<p>When I was working in my full-time job I used to wake at a certain time, get ready, and then log in on my laptop. I updated some files, then checked my emails, replied to people on teams, etc.<br \/>\nI used to have deadlines or got told by my manager to submit a file before COB. There was a pattern and structure which I used to use to be more efficient in my work. Otherwise, I would be all over the place and would end up working more hours to finish the tasks.<\/p>\n<p>I am now self-employed, I trade forex, work for Forex Mentor Pro and study or read in the spare hours I have. I am my own boss and it&#8217;s up to me how I want to manage my time.<br \/>\nThe problem I was facing though was, that I started to get too laid back after quitting my job. I had an alarm for 6.30 am but I used to wake up at 7.30 or 8 am as I didn&#8217;t have to rush anywhere.<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t have structured breaks, exercised only some days, and lost hours during the day sitting there wondering what I could do.<\/p>\n<h3>Marc to the rescue<\/h3>\n<p>Marc then stepped in and told me that laying back is the way to the &#8216;poor house&#8217; and is dangerous. If I kept doing this I would eventually lose motivation and not achieve my goals.<\/p>\n<p>He told me to make a morning routine. Then a structured plan of the things I would do during the day.<br \/>\nSo normally I would work 8-4, but now I would have to fill that space with tasks to keep me busy.<\/p>\n<p>He forwarded me some websites which help you plan your day and help you to keep reminders on repeat.<br \/>\nRescuetime is one of them. It&#8217;s a desktop app that helps you set your goals and tasks throughout the day. It reminds you of your next task when it&#8217;s closer to time.<br \/>\nIt also Uncovers the truth about what distracts you, and how much it\u2019s affecting your work, such as social media, Youtube, etc.<br \/>\nYou have to pay a small fee to use this service.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rescuetime.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rescuetime<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I used to have a habit of checking my Instagram every minute for no reason when I had nothing to do. When I looked at how many hours I used to spend per day it was shocking.<br \/>\nOn average I spent 1 hour every day, times that by 7 days that&#8217;s 7 hours of social media every week.<br \/>\nI wasn&#8217;t a blogger, influencer or anything but just scrolling through memes and posts that didn&#8217;t do me any good. That is 7 hours of my life which I could have used to become more productive.<\/p>\n<p>I had to delete Instagram for a little while after seeing those numbers. Thank fully I don&#8217;t use it as much now.<\/p>\n<p>I also found another free app that works on your phone as well called Todoist.<br \/>\nIt has a desktop version as well, but I prefer to have it on my phone as I take it everywhere. It does the same job as Rescue time but it doesn&#8217;t have the distract function.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/todoist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todoist<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>My Routine- plan your day<\/h4>\n<p>Whether you have a full-time job or self- employed it is important to have a daily routine. This will help you to be more productive during the day and week.<\/p>\n<p>I now have a routine in the morning when I wake up. I am more aware of my time during the day. This is just for a start, as the months go along I will adapt and change certain things to be more productive. My day goes something like below from Monday to Friday.<\/p>\n<p>6:30 am: Wake up and get fresh<br \/>\n6:40 am: make cup of coffee<br \/>\n6:45: Read a verse of Bible\/Prayer<br \/>\n6:50: 5 minutes of visualization\/Meditation\/breathing<br \/>\n7:00:Turn on Computer<br \/>\nRead trading rules<br \/>\nTake SET score<br \/>\n7:10-8.30: Read the news and check economic results<br \/>\nAnalyse the charts and see what happened in Asia session<br \/>\nCheck Emails, reply to FMP members etc.<br \/>\nWatch London open.<\/p>\n<p>Breakfast at 8.30 am<\/p>\n<p>9:00: Return to computer and take SET scores.<br \/>\nwatch the charts again for any set ups.<br \/>\n10 am- 11am: Exercise time.<br \/>\n11am -1pm: write SEO articles\/BLOG<br \/>\n1-2pm lunch time<br \/>\n2pm-4pm watch videos or learn a new skill<br \/>\n*can vary on Thursday as I make the blog video<\/p>\n<p>4pm: 15 min break to have tea<br \/>\n4.15pm to 5 read a book<br \/>\n5pm Finish work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forexmentorpro.com\/blog\/mw-post\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.forexmentorpro.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/728x90-.jpg \" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kind regards,<br \/>\nAshley<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How to Plan your day.
